A Tale of Style Senses

There was once an elegant designer called Didi who made the most exquisite accessories and jewellery. A cultural and artistic butterfly, her pieces were influenced by all the things she loved most.

Handbags were named after old-world movie stars and slinky waist cinching belts after sexy siblings. Hides were either butter soft or possessed tactile texture that made owners purr with satisfaction. And the lobes, necks and fingers of the lucky few who knew, were adorned by faceted gemstones set in silver and gold.

Her designs were influenced by where she lived so it went without saying that she would call them Eden as she made a treasure trove of luxe accessories.

Always on the look out for new inspirations, Didi’s sartorial sensibilities were ignited anew by looking heavenward and sighting swallows soaring in perfect arcs. They reminded her of her childhood where she would sight birds from Europe as they passed Lakoja, where the mighty River Niger met with the River Benue. And the town she called home.

The swallows told her story, one of movement and travel, where colours, flavours and form would converge in her accessories and jewelery. Their migration but continual return home was her route too. And the freedom they represented resonated with her too. It would have been rude not to incorporate them into her stylish idyll. And so she did. A change of focus meant a change of name, she was no longer in the garden of Eden alone she was light on her feet, with wings tipped with a splash of rebellion. She is Didi Isah. A confluence of quirky elegance setting the style agenda.
